Age Friendly County Initiative

Meath is going to be an Age Friendly County

Meath County Council together with the County Development Board aims to make Meath an Age Friendly County.

Age Friendly Counties/Cities are defined by the World Health Organisation as being places where active and healthy ageing is promoted and where the quality of life for older people matters.

Meath County Manager, Tom Dowling in collaboration with State and State funded Agencies and Community & Voluntary Organisations of the Meath County Development Board will champion the Age Friendly County initiative in Meath.

“It is important that older people in County Meath have their say in the development of an Age Friendly Strategy for the County.   This initiative will build on work already taking place and will make this County more inclusive and adaptive to the changing needs of its citizens.”  said Tom Dowling

If you are over 55 years of age and would like to have your say on what Meath is currently like for older people and how you would like it to look in the future, we would like to hear from you by completing our Meath Age Friendly County on-line questionnaire.
