New for January
Our New Library & Cultural Centre
The Library has expanded to create a new library & cultural centre which has allowed us to offer more accommodation to local community groups. If you wish a tour of the new space and would like to register your interest in using the new spaces, we are holding an information meeting on Thursday 26th January at 7pm. All are welcome
New children’s Book Club for younger readers
Ages 8 – 10 years
A new monthly book club for our younger readers will be starting on Friday 20th January at 4pm. Please leave your name at the desk if you wish to join this club.
New Creative Writing Classes for Children
Ages 10 – 12 years
An 8 week course for children interested in creative writing with registration on 21st January at 2.30pm. There is a fee for this course. Ask at the desk for details.
Author Event – John Ryan
Tuesday 24th January at 7pm
Author John Ryan will be discussing his new book ‘The wisdom of the oracles’ a mind body spirit book which looks at our perceptions of the world and how to live life through peace of mind and self discovery. Please leave your name at the desk if you wish to attend.
Tintin Exhibition and Competition
The library is running a Tintin competition for the ages of 5 – 12 years. All the answers can be found in our Tintin exhibition at the new library entrance. The winner will receive a great Tintin pack. Entry forms are available at the desk and the closing date is the 31st January.
New – Ashbourne Youth Theatre Group
A new youth theatre group will be held in the library from February. If you are aged from 13 – 18 years and would be interested in attending, leave your name at the desk and the
co-ordinator will be in touch. Ask at the desk for details.

Parent & Toddler Group
Tuesday & Thursday Mornings between 10am – 12pm.
Bring your child along for games, activities and story time. On Tuesdays there is also a stories and songs session with Mary, which begins at 11.45.

Music Appreciation Club
Every Wednesday Morning 11am – 12.30pm.
Come along and join this informal club, which explores aspects of classical music, traditional Irish music and popular musicals.
