Pride of Place Awards 2009

The seventh annual Pride of Place Awards took place in Knightsbrook Hotel in Trim on Friday last with Moynalty scooping the top prize for the second year in a row. Over 600 guests including Tidy Towns Groups, Residents Associations and Elected Representatives attended the event where Cllr. Willie Carey, Cathaoirleach of Meath County Council paid tribute to the vital work of the many volunteers who participate in the Pride of Place Initiatives

The aim of Meath County Council through its investment in the Pride of Place Initiatives is to promote community activity and development and to work in partnership with local groups and individuals in order to build confident, vibrant communities across the County of Meath . ‘There is a strong tradition to undertake voluntary work in the County, and this impulse has never been more vital than in the challenging times which lie ahead’, noted Tom Dowling, County Manager

The event was part sponsored by Indaver Ireland.
