Electoral Register

 

DRAFT REGISTER OF ELECTORS 2012/2013 

The Council is responsible for the compilation of the Electoral Register for CountyMeath. You have until November 25th to make sure that you are registered to vote.

ELECTORS ARE ADVISED TO CHECK THE DRAFT REGISTER TO ENSURE THAT THEIR DETAILS ARE REGISTERED CORRECTLY.

It is especially important to check that you are registered if you have recently changed address, if you will reach your 18th birthday by 15th February 2012 or your nationality status has changed.

If you have a physical disability and you wish to vote from home, you should apply to go on the Postal Voters’ List. You can also vote by post if you are likely to be unable to vote in person at your polling station because of the circumstances of your occupation, service or employment. If you are living in a hospital, nursing home or similar institution, you should apply to go on the Special Voters’ List.

Forms for registration are available at the Council Offices or can be downloaded from www.meath.ie. Completed forms must be received in Corporate Services, Meath County Council, County Hall, Navan, on or before November 25th 2011.

Is féidir leat vótáil tríd an bpost más rud é nach bhfuil tú in ann dul chuig d’ionad vótála de bharr oibre, seirbhíse nó fostaíochta, Má tá tú i do chónaí in ospidéal, teach altranais nó in institiúid chomhchosúil, ba chóir duit iarratas a dhéanamh dul ar an Liosta na Vótálaithe Speisialta.

Tá foirmeacha clárúcháin ar fáil ag oifigí na Comhairle nó is féidir iad a íoslódáil ó www.meath.ie Ní mór foirmeacha comhlánta a chur isteach chuig Seirbhísí Corparáideacha, Comhairle Chontae na Mí, Halla an Chontae, Sráid an Bhóthair Iarainn, An Uaimh ar nó roimh an 25ú  Samhain,  2011.

Electoral Register

The Register of Electors is prepared by Meath County Council each year. It is a list of people in the county, over the age of 18, who are eligible to vote.

Check you are on the Electoral Register and your details are correct.

Draft Register of Electors

Changes and updates are made to the Register and a Draft Register (printed on pink paper) is published on 1st November each year. This incorporates all amendments which have been received by the Local Authority Offices up to the date of printing.

This Draft Register is forwarded to Council offices, Post Offices, Libraries and Garda Stations. Any member of the public may examine the Draft Register, and, if any errors or omissions occur, may complete a claim form (RFA1) and return to Meath County Council before the closing date, 25th November. These claims are then adjudicated on by the County Registrar in December and persons are notified of the allowance/disallowance of their claim.

Closing date for applications:

The closing date for receipt of all applications is the 25th November of each year.

Live Register

The Live Register (printed on white paper) is then published on 1st February and forwarded to your Council offices, Post Offices, Libraries and Garda Stations. The Register comes into force on 15th February.
