Long Term Leasing for Social Housing
Leasing Project / Social Housing
The Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government has established a new leasing initiative for the delivery of social housing. This new initiative represents an expansion of the options for the delivering of social housing. Leasing introduces greater flexibility in the composition of the housing stock and provides the opportunity for housing authorities to benefit from market conditions to increase output and meet housing need in a cost effective manner.
Submissions are now being sought by Meath Council from property owners for the provision of suitable houses for occupation by its social housing applicants.
Meath County Council Housing Department has sourced a Voluntary Body who will enter into lease agreements with property owners for a period of between 10 and 20 years, with the terms and condition of each lease to be agreed.
Initial expressions of interest can now be made to Meath County Council before 1 November 2011 and should provide the following information:
- Location and address of the properties
- Type (House/Duplex/ etc)
- Number of rooms
- Size of property
- Date Available
- Indicative market rents
- Energy Rating
Interested parties should provide this information on the downloadable 'Property Submission Template' below and return it directly to the Council by e-mail to Ms. Gráinne Tuomey at gtuomey@meathcoco.ie or in writing to:,
