The staff at Kells Swimming Pool pride themselves on their commitment to teaching water confidence and swimming techniques to all ages at the pool.

All the learning programmes at the pool have a structure with progression from little pool through to deep end.

• For children, regular monitoring during the course and assessment at the end of each course ensures that they move along at their own rate.
• Adults have their own time for learning too, and staff is aware of the different needs of older people in a challenging environment.
• Separate lessons for Ladies and Gents are available at the pool.

Swimming is regarded as the most therapeutic exercise, with the water itself providing buoyancy to protect joints from injury.

• (link to aquafit info) Aquafit Classes run regularly at the pool and are an ideal way to get fit without injury while enjoying the music and the craic!

Swimming for those with a disability.

Kells Swimming Club provides training for young people with special needs.

There is a session on Saturdays for people with special and additional needs and their families to enjoy the water and have a lesson.

Water time is precious and the more practice the better. Little and often is much more productive than longer infrequent visits.

Swimming is a wonderful skill and one that is never lost.

All through life it will promote health and fitness and it will also ensure safety and pleasure when on holidays.
